About Me

My photo
70 now and our five wonderful years aboard our narrowboat Skyy seem along time ago. Jacquie, allowed me to build my replica three wheeler kit car, which was a great success. Now it's time to start on a bigger project and that is to make a good Triumph Stag even better, here goes.

MEMORIES

TUESDAY 4TH MAY 2010

The weather was just perfect weatherm if a little chill. We wandered around the village of Wrenbury before Jacquie activated the electric lift bridge and we cruised along this peaceful canal. There is just a handful of well spaced locks to keep things interesting, that is until we arrived at the six Grindley Brook locks, three of them are in a ‘staircase’ and a lock keeper is on duty to ensure that no flooding takes place. Shortly afterwards we stopped just short of the Whitchurch arm and when I walked Duggie around onto the arm, memories came flooding back from our boating holiday four years ago with Kim and John, when we took the fateful decision to buy a boat. There were plans then to extend this truncated arm back towards the town centre, as it quite a long walk from the canal. Nothing yet has taken place, although, as can be seen from following website, various options are being seriously considered.
