70 now and our five wonderful years aboard our narrowboat Skyy seem along time ago. Jacquie, allowed me to build my replica three wheeler kit car, which was a great success. Now it's time to start on a bigger project and that is to make a good Triumph Stag even better, here goes.

PICKING A SPOT

THURSDAY 21ST MAY 2009

The search for a pick up point for those old reprobates, Kim & John, is now on. Reading seemed like a good idea as the guide showed many pubs lining the Kennet & Avon Canal. We turned off the Thames and onto the canal, which is a bit of a misnomer as it is in fact the River Kennet, with quite a fast flow. Sadly there was nowhere to moor and there is a one way, traffic light, system for boats as the course of the river is narrow and winding as we passed right through the centre of Reading, under many bridges and the Oracle. Eventually we arrived at the Cunning Man Pub alongside the Burghfield Bridge in a delightful rural setting, This would do nicely as we drove the pins into the ground and we could relax until K & J arrived tomorrow.
