The first thing that we heard on this beautiful morning was the tweeting of little birds and the source of the sound was from a fork of the tree right along side SKYY. There was a little family of Blue Tit chicks on the verge of fledging. One had already moved on and mum was busy feeding him, perched on the trunk as well as the others still in the nest. It was bound to happen, this grumpy little chap fell to the floor and needed a helping hand back onto the tree. Over the next couple of hours a couple more were helped to safety and we hoped that they all survived.
The river was extremely busy, a lovely sunny Bank Holiday Sunday and all the big river cruisers were out and about, it took quite a while to get through the locks and it was late in the day when we reached our intended destination of Marlow. Janice and son Sam were waiting for us at Marlow lock, so that Janice could introduce Sam to the delights of floating about. Sadly after passing through the lock there no moorings available, so we continued to Bourne End where a very nice couple from Anna the Dutch Barge invited us to moor alongside, thanks you very much, a good place to end a lovely day.
